HIRE IQ — for event and function hire
Hire that gets delivered, not signed for.
Tents, mobile toilets, chairs, tables, crockery and catering equipment. Stock that goes out in hundreds, comes back in hundreds, and is counted rather than inspected — with the SARS and POPIA side handled inside the product.
The problem
Hire software assumes somebody signs at a counter.
It asks for an hour meter on a marquee, a load-test certificate on a trestle table, and a signature from a customer who is not there because your driver dropped the toilets at six on a Friday morning.
So the event hire trade ends up on a diary, a spreadsheet and a shoebox — and the arguments are always the same two. How many chairs actually came back. And who is paying for the eleven that did not.
HIRE IQ counts stock out and counts it back, works the shortfall out at your own replacement value, and puts it on the invoice or leaves it off, depending on how you trade.
Built for
- Tent, marquee and structure hire
- Mobile toilet and site sanitation hire
- Chairs, tables, linen and décor
- Crockery, cutlery and catering equipment
How it works
Counted out. Counted back. Charged, or not.
Stock you own in quantity, with a replacement value against it. What goes out is a number, what comes back is a number, and the difference is arithmetic rather than an argument.
Quantities, not serial numbers
Two hundred chairs is one line with a quantity on it, not two hundred records to keep. Rates by day, week or month, a deposit each if you take one, and a replacement value that does the work below.
Shortfall worked out for you
Count what came back and HIRE IQ tells you what is missing and what that is worth at your own replacement value. No mental arithmetic on a Monday morning, and no round number picked to end the conversation.
Breakages recorded whether or not you charge
Plenty of yards price breakage into the hire and never invoice for it. Turn charging off and the count-back still records what came back broken, so you keep the figures for your own stock planning.
Agreed before anything is loaded
The customer accepts the quote and that is the agreement — who accepted, when, and on which version of your terms. Nothing waits on a signature at a gate.
- No hour meters. Nothing asks you for engine hours on a gazebo.
- No load-test or roadworthy certificates, and no book-out refused over one.
- No per-unit inspection checklist. You count; you do not inspect three hundred side plates one at a time.
- No vehicle tracking unless you ask for it. It is an option for every customer and a requirement for none.
- One switch under Settings shows everything again, if you ever want to look.
What you will not be asked
The screens you will never use are not on your screen.
You tell HIRE IQ what you hire out when you sign up — one question, three answers — and it sets itself up for that trade.
It is not a cut-down edition and it is not a different product. Everything is still there; you are simply not made to walk past it every day. If you buy a bakkie next year and start hiring that out too, add it and the rest comes back.
Being built now
The delivery side, and where it is.
We would rather tell you what is not finished than sell you a screen you cannot open.

We are building this with the yards that will use it. If you hire out tents, toilets, chairs or catering equipment, tell us how your Friday and your Monday actually run — what gets dropped, what gets counted, and what you argue about — and it shapes what gets built next.

Talks to your hardware
Till-slip printers and barcode scanners for anything you sell over the counter, and it keeps working through a line drop.
Free to download. Open it, create your account, and the 7 days free start when you first sign in.
7 days free, and no card to start. Put a real weekend through it with nothing to pay today. Add a card during the week only if you decide to carry on. Do nothing and it simply stops — nothing charged, and your records still there.
We are not registered for VAT yet, so there is no VAT added to the R650 and what you receive is an invoice rather than a tax invoice. When we register we will tell you before anything changes.
Questions
What event hire yards ask us.
Straight answers, including the ones that are not flattering. If yours is not here, ask it directly — you will get a reply from a person.
Do my customers have to sign for anything?
We do not charge for breakages. Does that matter?
We hire chairs in hundreds, not one at a time.
Will I be asked for hour meters and safety certificates?
We also hire out a bakkie and a generator. Can we do both?
What does it cost?
Next step
Put one weekend through it.
A real function, with the real stock and the real count-back at the end of it. That is the only test that tells you anything.
